    L I M I T I N G B E L I E F S⁠ ⁠ Limiting bel L I M I T I N G B E L I E F S⁠ ⁠ Limiting beliefs are thoughts that one believes to be the absolute truth. They tend to have a negative impact by stopping people from moving forward and growing on both a personal and professional level.⁠ ⁠ We all have them. Limiting beliefs sure do not discriminate! These limiting beliefs in this post are some of the ones that have come up in my life and my career as a teacher and educator. What's really important is that we acknowledge them, and catch them when they come up, AND consistently reframe them so that we train our brain to think of positive or neutral beliefs that can help propel us forward and help us step closer to our goals.⁠ ⁠ On the right hand side are my own personal reframes and what I say to myself when my limiting beliefs come up. These reframes might differ from person to person, but this is the important step to take to prevent us from getting stuck.⁠ ⁠ Do any of these limiting beliefs sound familiar to you? I sit here today, at the end of day 1 of term 4 and I am celebrating all you amazing educators out there making this world a better place! 🥳 Teachers, I have witnessed you being some of the most resilient people in the last half year. I have been so proud to be a part of this community that has been so flexible throughout this school year. Here’s to you, my fellow educator. You deserve all the love in the world today, and you deserve to celebrate the difference you’re making in this world 💕 Here’s a picture of one my fave memories of being a teacher. The very first cohort of year 12 students I coordinated and saw through their final two years of high school came up with this name on the back of my year 12 jumper to humour me with the classic math joke associated with my last name.     C O N N O R S R U N So September came and went, C O N N O R S R U N So September came and went, and if you were here at the start of September, you would know that I committed to covering 100 km on foot across the month of September as part of @rcdfoundation Connor’s Run 2020 to raise funds for paediatric brain cancer research and education. I am proud to say that I covered 122 km on foot in total over the month, and managed to raise $225 as part of my fundraising efforts! It’s been ages since I’ve gotten myself involved with a fundraising effort like that, and I know that it’s something that I’m going to commit to doing more of for causes that hold values close to my heart. Service has always been a value of mine, and I’m grateful that I get to serve causes in this way.
